IA Regional Group Held Two Day Meeting December 10 & 11, 2019 in Saskatoon

On December 10 2019 the IA Admins and Workers gathered in Saskatoon at The Willows Golf & Country Club to discuss the On-reserve Income Assistance Program.

There were 40 First Nation Communities in Saskatchewan that were represented at the meeting including representative from Indigenous Services Canada, Canada Revenue Agency, and Service Canada.

CRA and Service Canada facilitated two separate presentations discussion outreach programs and services provided to First Nations communities.

The group had the opportunity to network with other IA Workers and discuss current issues in the program, share best practices and solution strategies to ensure the On-reserve IA program is being operated by compliance standards and meeting the basic needs of their clients.

On December 11, 2019 the group spent the day with Terry Lowe from Catholic Family Services. The group was presented a Stress Management Workshop during the morning followed with Self-care appraisal, strategies and wellness plan workshop in the afternoon.
